about
This song is loosely inspired by my 40th (!) high school reunion, which is being held at the same time as Obon week in Japan. Obon is when people welcome back for a brief time their loved ones and ancestors. It seemed to fit a general theme of gathering together (physically - and spiritually and metaphorically) as something essential to our being as humans.

Reunion Day
We will gather
On the shoreline
Of this still and quiet lake
All are friends here
There are no strangers
We share bonds that we’ll never shake
