Hell Version 07:06

about

Recorded in 1996 or 97, I don't quite remember, with a hot bunch of players who were involved in a number of different bands. Arttu Tolenen played with Fear the Cow. He's now with the Finnish band Giant Robot. Bruce Wirth was working with the Walkabouts. He's now Program Director at KBCS radio in Bellvue, Washington. Jake Weber was in a band with me in the early 90s. She plays with the eclectic acoustic band, the Wiretappers. Guest banjo-player Nick Hornbuckle used to frequent the Two Bells, a bar I worked at. An unassuming fellow, he made our mouths drop when he did a single take and asked "Was that all right?" Trevor Lutzenhiser's chainsaw guitar riffs on Hell Version were inspired by his work in the band, Sledge. Tucker Martine recorded, engineered and produced the album.
